Citizens for the Developmentally Disabled (a.k.a. The Colfax County Workshop and The Children’s Workshop) is a private, non-profit New Mexico Corporation. CDD provides services to developmentally disabled adults ages 18 and older utilizing consumer individualized choices and people first philosophies. The Children’s Workshop, which was added to our scope of services in 1984, provides services to families with infants, toddlers and/or preschoolers who are developmentally delayed or at risk. The CDD was founded in 1980 to provide services to six developmentally disabled adults. Since that time, CDD, Inc. has expanded into several counties as the need for developmentally disabled services increased.
Community inclusion and day habilitation work service activities and alternate living choices to developmentally disabled adults ages 18 years and older utilizing consumer individualized choices and people first philosophies. Consumer vision statements are incorporated in developing, visualizing and attaining outcomes via an individual service plan in accordance with the least restrictive modality and through the enhancement of natural support resources and settings.
Services to families with infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers who are developmentally delayed or at risk by offering evaluations, early intervention, specialized therapies, family training, respite and support including information for other available resources. Families are encouraged to participate in developing an individual service plan that fits in their lifestyle utilizing natural support setting in the least restrictive environment possible. Family needs will be met with a high level of professionalism in a manner that is comfortable to each family with sensitivity to culture, background and philosophies.
