Foster Grandparent Program/Senior Companion Program
Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions connect today's 55 and older adults with the organizations that need them the most. FGP/SCP helps them become mentors, coaches or companions to people in need. Their contribution of skills, knowledge, and experience make a real difference to individuals, non-profits, faith-based, and other other community organizations. Volunteers will receive guidance and training so they can give the most based on their talents, interests, and availability.
Foster Grandparent Program
The Foster Grandparent Program provides an invaluable service and support to at risk and special needs students.The FGP has served communities throughout Colfax County since 1992 and provided more than 500,000 hours of service.

As a Foster Grandparent, you're a role model, mentor, and a friend. You will serve at one of many local organizations and will help children learn to read, provide one-on-one tutoring, and guide children at a critical time in their lives.

Senior Companion Program
The Senior Companion Program has served Colfax County communities since 1992, providing more than 500,000 hours of service.

The SCP provides adults, over the age of 21, with an identifiable need; assistance in everyday tasks, necessary in helping maintain their independence. Your assistance can help family members and professional caregivers with time off, running errands, or simply being a friend which will help strengthen the individuals' independence.

Please consider the difference YOU can make in the life of an adult in our community by offering companionship and friendship to isolated and frail adults.
